West Park Hospital is a modern NHS adult psychiatric hospital in Darlington, County Durham. It was built to replace the dated facilies at the now demolished Winterton Hospital and the Pierremont unit at Darlington Memorial Hospital. The hospital is part of the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust which also manages Roseberry Park Hospital, Middlesbrough and Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham. The hospital provides adult inpatient care consisting of acute admissions wards, an eating disorders ward, an older people's ward and a psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU). Darlington community mental health team offices are also based on the site. The wards at West Park consists of all ground-floor single bedrooms. Males and females also have separate TV lounges and washroom facilities. Each ward has its own garden. The hospital provides a restaurant and shop for staff, patients and visitors and a gym for inpatients.
